Legal Challenge Date Brought Forward
Coventry Airport has today, 7 February 2008, received the good news that the substantive hearing into the Airport’s legal challenge is to be brought forward.
The Airport’s legal team has secured the new date with the Administrative Court and the hearing will now take place the week commencing 21st July, some 3 months earlier than previously expected. The hearing is scheduled to take five days and will be heard in the High Court.
Chris Orphanou, the Airport’s Chief Executive Officer said “This really is excellent news. The fact that we have been able to secure a hearing 3 months earlier than anticipated shows the importance of this case. We want to put our argument forward as to why the decision of the Secretaries of State was flawed and get on with building our business for the good of Coventry, Warwickshire and the region as a whole”.
