Coventry Airport Express Takes to the Road!

A new bus service linking Coventry Airport with Coventry Railway Station, Coventry City Centre and Pool Meadow Coach Station commences 13 December 2004 providing the Airport with a much needed integrated public transport connection.

Service 737, branded the Coventry Airport Express will run every hour on the half hour from Coventry Airport between 0730 and 1830 and every hour on the hour from Pool Meadow Coach Station between 0700 - 1800 hours.

The bus will be operated by Mike De Courcey Travel and will call at London Road (Toll Bar), Quinton Parade (Cheylesmore), Coventry Railway Station, Coventry City Centre (Broadgate) and Pool Meadow Coach Station. The fare between the Airport and Pool Meadow will be £1.50

Commenting on the new service Bob Wildman from Mike De Courcey Travel said 'We are delighted to be able to bridge the gap and provide this new service linking the Airport with the major transport centres in Coventry. This will be our 11th new bus route this year, underlining our commitment to providing good public transport in Coventry'.

The route will be operated by a brand new environmentally friendly bus fitted with a Euro 3 engine, which is one of the newest and cleanest on the market. The bus also has a super low floor providing fully accessible entry.

Managing Director of Coventry Airport Bill Savage said 'We very much welcome this public transport provision and will do all we can to ensure both passengers and staff are encouraged to utilise this great new service'.
