Expanding Airport Creates Jobs For Coventry and Warwickshire

Coventry Airport has today confirmed that the airport operation has created almost 370 new jobs for the region, approximately 70% of which are from Coventry and Warwickshire. The further planned expansion of the operation has fuelled a flood of applications and enquiries from local job seekers.

The resurgence of passenger flights in March this year has provided exciting new job opportunities for the region from check in staff to fire fighters and caterers to car parking attendants. As the airport continues to expand its operation to a planned 2 million passengers per annum operation many more jobs will be created.

The Thomsonfly.com operation has created 139 new jobs, Skypartners who provide the food and beverages for the airport have created 25 new jobs and Coventry Airport Handling has employed 70 new staff. Added to the 135 new jobs created within the airport operating company, West

Midlands International Airport Limited, provides a total of 369 staff approximately 70% of which are from homes with 'CV' postcodes.

The airport has created a lot of excitement in the city and pride that the sub-region now has its own airport."
