Airport Rail Guide Gets Coventry Airport On Track
23rd July 2004
Coventry Airport has worked with Centro, the West Midlands Passenger Transport Executive, to feature in its Airport Rail Guide which provides train times for Coventry Airport, Birmingham International Airport and Birmingham New Street Station.
The guide contains useful information to help both outgoing and incoming passengers plan their rail journey to the two airports, showing that rail is the fast and convenient way to travel to them.
The guide's pages for Coventry Airport show Standard Day Return Fares and detail the bus connection to the airport. In addition to the information the leaflet provides the Centro Helpline Number (0121 200 2700) and the web address for travellers to find more information www.centro.org.uk
Since the resurgence of passenger flights at Coventry in March this year Coventry has become a popular departure point for Midlanders heading off for a low cost break for business or pleasure, and has also become a popular new arrival point for overseas visitors to the area from the many Thomsonfly destinations offered by the airport.
Bus services 538 and 539 run from Coventry Station (Warwick Road Rail Bridge) to Baginton, a five minute walk from the West Gate of the airport, where passengers can take the connecting shuttle bus that links the West Gate to the main departures terminal.
Kimberley Kay, Director of Communications for Coventry Airport, said, "The leaflet is a great information resource for airport passengers helping them to arrive by public transport and detailing the connections for incoming passengers heading on to their destinations in Coventry and the wider region."
