Airport Consultation Process Takes Another Step

16th June 2004

Chairman of Coventry Airport's reconstituted consultative process Lord Snape has invited representatives of local stakeholders to join a new consultation forum.

On 25 May a meeting was held for all parties who had expressed an interest in being involved in the airport's consultative process. At this meeting various opinions were raised by representatives of local authorities, local residents, environmental groups and local businesses and protest groups.

Following the meeting Lord Snape gave consideration to all the parties, the issues raised and the most effective composition for the airport's consultation process to ensure that the process would be effective for all.

Based on this Lord Snape issued invitations to 11 individuals and organisations asking for their ongoing contribution to the consultative process. Once replies have been received, Lord Snape will communicate who the forum representatives are and set a date for a meeting of this group.

Commenting on the consultation process Lord Snape said, "A range of constructive comments were voiced at the meeting from numerous groups and individuals affected by the airport. Having heard a range of concerns I am confident that the group invited to join the forum will make this an effective process for all. I look forward to meeting with them as a group to move the consultation process forwards and to start to resolve issues."
