Coventry Airport Consultative Forum

4th May 2004

TUI, the new operator of Coventry Airport, has previously announced that it is keen to renew a consultative process to facilitate a constructive dialogue between the airport, local residents, business and community organisations and local and regional stakeholders that are affected by the airport's developments and growth.

The airport is keen to establish a meaningful consultative forum that facilitates information flow, regular updates and worthwhile public dialogue - resulting in a more accurate and effective relationship and greater understanding between the airport and the local and regional stakeholders.

Director of Communications for Coventry Airport, Kimberley Kay, said: "The new operation of Coventry Airport by TUI coupled with the Department For Transport's new guidelines for consultative forums, issued in December 2003, make the timing perfect for reconstituting the consultative process."

Coventry Airport has asked the well respected and regionally informed Peter Snape to chair the consultative forum. Peter Snape was previously MP for West Bromwich East for 27 years and the House of Commons front bench aviation spokesperson for ten years.

Peter Snape commented: "In order to make this process as effective as possible I will be seeking to have responsible contact with local and regional organisations to gather their suggestions as to who should be involved in the process, their recommendations of representatives and the format for the process."
